On August 18, 2017, Governor John Carney and PSC Chairman Dallas Winslow visited PJM Interconnection in Audubon, Pennsylvania to discuss regional energy issues impacting Delaware.
PJM operates a competitive wholesale electricity market and manages the reliability of the transmission grid in all or part of 13 states, including Delaware. PJM is responsible for dispatching electrical power and coordinating the movement of wholesale electricity throughout their operating region. Topics of the visit included: cost allocation for the Artificial Island transmission project, emergency preparedness, grid resiliency and cybersecurity.
The Delaware Public Service Commission works to ensure safe, reliable and reasonably priced electrical, natural gas, water and wastewater service in Delaware.
